Songlin Joined NMRFAM in November 2021. He is expert in ultra-fast magic angle spinning (MAS) solid-state NMR (ssNMR) and Oriented-Sample (OS) ssNMR. During his Ph.D. study, his research mainly focused on the development of novel ssNMR techniques at up to 110kHz spinning speed with 1mm and 0.75mm JEOL ultra-fast MAS probes. During his postdoc period, he utilized OS-ssNMR to characterize the topology of large membrane proteins reconstituted in magnetically aligned lipid systems. He has rich knowledge of ssNMR pulse sequence design and programming. He also has extensive experience in sample preparation for ssNMR studies, especially for lipids embedded membrane proteins.
